Temporary power and temperature control specialist Aggreko has hosted a delegation from the Kazakhstan embassy at its Dumbarton manufacturing plant.

The visit, led by Kazakh ambassador to the UK Yerzhan Kazykhanov, was part of a wider three-day programme that included meetings with business, government and academia in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Aggreko already operates in Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector and is looking to expand into the mining and petrochemicals industries, while building closer ties with its national energy grid.

Volker Schulte, director of manufacturing and technology at Aggreko, said: “Kazakhstan holds huge potential so today has been a great opportunity to further cement relationships and demonstrate Aggreko’s absolute commitment to quality and innovation, and the skill, experience and passion of our local workforce.”

Kazykhanov was assistant to the Kazakhstan president and has served as the republic’s minister of foreign affairs.
