Addison named among stars set for Fringe

THE Thick of It star Chris Addison is to return to the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time since 2004.

The Avalon comedy agency announced its Fringe line-up yesterday, including Welsh stand-up Addison as well as names such as Greg Davies, best known for his roles in We Are Klang and as Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners, making his solo stand-up debut.

Richard Herring is also bringing back Christ on A Bike, his 2001 show.

Laura Solon and Al Murray, both winners of the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, are appearing, along with Dan Antopolski, a former nominee, and Russell Kane, nominated for the last three years running.

Since 1991 Avalon has had 17 comedy award nominations and five winners.

Yesterday the Edinburgh Festival Fringe announced that tickets will go on sale this year on 11 June, the day after the official programme is launched.

Kath Mainland, Fringe chief executive, said: "Tickets for the 64th Edinburgh Festival Fringe will go on sale to the public at 8am on Friday, 11 June.

"This ensures members of the public can get tickets for all of the many and varied performances in the Fringe programme the day after it becomes available."
