Abuse victims' letters of hope go on display

MESSAGES from female victims of domestic abuse will form part of a touring display due to hit the Capital today.

The event, organised on the back of International Women's Day, will also have bundles of white feathers to signify hope for others at the Cameron Toll exhibition.

It aims to offer encouragement and to show those currently suffering from domestic abuse that there is a way out of it.

Michele Corcoran, Edinburgh Women's Aid manager, said: "At Edinburgh Women's Aid we provide a wide range of support from women of all backgrounds whose lives are touched by domestic abuse.

"No woman should have to live their life in fear so we want to make sure all women in Edinburgh know where to turn to for help and support. Our door is always open."

The touring display will visit towns and cities across Scotland, and will be at the shopping centre throughout today.
