Aberdeen footballer in court over nightclub brawl
A FOOTBALLER appeared in court today charged with fighting at a nightclub.
Aberdeen midfielder Mark Kerr is accused of assaulting two men as well as struggling with door stewards at the city's Priory nightclub last month.
During a brief appearance at Aberdeen Sheriff Court he denied three charges against him and was released on bail. He is due to go on trial in November.
Kerr, 27, from Chapelhall in Airdrie, is accused of assaulting Robert Hay and seizing him by the throat at the city centre club on Belmont street on May 20.
He is further accused of struggling with door stewards who were removing him from the premises, struggling with Mr Hay, and shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.
A third charge states that he assaulted another man, John Robb, on the same date on Belmont Street, by punching him to his injury.
Kerr's solicitor Jim Duncan confirmed to the court that he was pleading not guilty to the charges.
Kerr joined Aberdeen last year having previously played for Dundee United and Falkirk.
He has made one appearance for the Scotland B team.
