Abandoned seal pups back in the swim
FOUR seal pups abandoned by their mothers were finally released back into their natural habitat yesterday for their first taste of freedom in more than three months.
Glow, Ness, Lomond and Earn spent the past two months in the care of the Scottish SPCA and Deep Sea World, in North Queensferry, Fife, after they were found at various sites around Fife.
They were nursed back to health and fattened up to a healthy weight, ahead of plans to release them.
Yesterday they were freed at the Silver Sands, in Aberdour, Fife, in suitably wet weather conditions.
Deep Sea World Aquarist Chris Rowe said: "It is fantastic to be involved in the rehabilitation and conservation of these amazing mammals."
