A pink glow of support for Moonwalkers
SOME of Edinburgh's most iconic buildings are to be swathed in pink light to show support for this year's Moonwalk.
The Balmoral Hotel, Royal Yacht Britannia and the National Galleries of Scotland will be among dozens of landmarks which will glow pink during the event on June 14.
Organisers are hoping that the show of support will help lift the spirits of the 12,000 participants.
Nina Barough, chief executive of organisers Walk the Walk, said: "This is a tremendous way of showing support for the thousands of walkers. If more people want to fly the flag for us in this way then we would love to hear from them and we can advise them how to do it."
Some of the buildings will be coating their floodlights with a pink gel to change colour for the night while others, including the Balmoral Hotel, will use special pink fluorescent light bulbs.
