9am Briefing: Man rescued from Arthur's Seat
A 40-YEAR-OLD man had to be rescued from Arthur's Seat after he collapsed.
Ambulance crews were called to help the man and called for the assistance of fire staff to get him from the Dry Dam, near the summit of the beauty spot last night.
Huge spotlights were brought in to assist with the search for the man, who was stretchered down to Queen's Drive.
He had collapsed after suffering from chest pains shortly before 10pm last night.
He was given oxygen at the scene by paramedics, before being taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. His condition is not thought to be life-threatening.
Ryanair cuts down on Edinburgh flights
NO-FRILLS airline Ryanair is set to cut its flights from Edinburgh Airport by a third this winter.
Flights on eight of its routes from the Capital will be cut from October, while there were suggestions a further 11 routes could also be affected after it emerged winter bookings were not being taken.
The company currently flies 29 routes from the airport and had hoped to carry 1.8 million passengers on flights to and from the Capital this year.
Richey in US prison
THE 23-year-old son of former Death Row Scot Kenny Richey is in prison in the United States on nine charges including assault and fraud.
Sean Richey is on remand in Crow Wing County Jail, Minnesota, and is due to appear in court next month.
He was turned in by his mother, Wendy Amerud, Richey's ex-wife, after she claimed he stole her cheque book.
Richey – who came home to Edinburgh last year after 21 years on Death Row – is currently back in the US, living with Ms Amerud.
Boyle announces first single
SUSAN BOYLE's first single will be her version of Moon River.
The Blackburn singer is reportedly halfway through recording her debut album and Moon River, which features in movie classic Breakfast at Tiffany's is the best track so far.
Susan, 48, has said this week that sudden fame hit her like a "giant demolition ball".
