EDINBURGH Labour MP Mark Lazarowicz is to pay back more than £2500 which he claimed in Commons expenses for legal costs connected with his London flat.

The MP for Edinburgh North and Leith said the claim had been "entirely within the existing parliamentary rules" but he realised it would "look high" and he believed it was "only reasonable" he should pay a big part of the costs.

New challenge for cyclist

CITY cyclist Mark Beaumont is set to undertake his biggest challenge yet - attempting the longest unbroken journey on Earth from Alaska to South America.

Morais, 23, was fined 500 for the assault in the city's Maxims Casino but today revealed he got into the fight because he was lonely and missed his family.

Great Run glitch

AROUND 300 competitors in the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run have had their times adjusted upwards after a glitch in the timing system.

Organisers were forced to apologise after the computer error, which saw times out by up to four minutes.
