An ambulance worker has been awarded the British Empire Medal for his life-
saving work.

Bryan Finlay, a community resuscitation development officer with the Scottish Ambulance Service, was presented with the medal by Midlothian Provost Joe Wallace.

Mr Wallace said: “This modest man has quite literally saved more lives than I can imagine. It was a real honour to meet Bryan.”

Mr Finlay, from Penicuik, who set up a first responders scheme, teaches resuscitation techniques in schools.
