POLICE have told the public that the ‘999’ emergency services phone system is currently unavailable in the Dores and Gorthleck areas of Inverness due to a problem with telephone lines.

Police Scotland said they are in regular contact with BT, who are working to fix the problem.

Until BT have resolved the problem there will be police officers and a vehicle located at the Dores Inn and there will also be a police vehicle on patrol in the area.

Members of the public can also visit Burnett Road police station. In both areas the mobile phone service is still available.

Police can also be contacted via 101.
