200 skiers take part in contest
MORE than 200 skiers from schools across the UK took part in the British Schools Dry Slope Ski Championships at the Midlothian SnowSports Centre.
The schools championship was first held in 1968 at what was then called the Hillend ski centre and this year's event – organised by the Scottish Schools Ski Association – was very much a 'homecoming' to Midlothian for the 40th annual competition.
Beeslack Girls came 7th overall and Penicuik Boys and Girls both came 14th in their respective races.
