2009 in pictures: Part Two
AS 2009 draws to a close, we take a look back at the most striking images of some of the major events of the year. Part Two takes in the G20 summit, the death of Michael Jackson and the controversial Iranian elections.
• April 2: Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi strikes a pose with US President Barack Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev as world leaders pose for a photo during the G20 summit in London.
• Scotland on Sunday photographer Robert Perry got up close and personal with the lions at Blair Drummond safari park.
• April 3: Carla Bruni-Sarkozy fixes her husband's hair while they wait at Baden-Baden City hall
• May 17: Sri Lankan troops walk amongst debris inside the war zone.
• May 29: Supporters of former South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun gather during a funeral ceremony in downtown Seoul.
• June 10: Libya's leader Moamer Kadhafi (right) is greeted by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi upon his arrival for his first visit to Italy.
• June 13: An Iranian riot-police officer sprays tear-gas at a supporter of defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi during riots in Tehran following the disputed election.
• June 29: A poster of Michael Jackson is signed by fans near his Star on the Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California. The King of Pop died on 25 June.
• July 7: Michael Jackson's daughter Paris (centre) is comforted by family members at a memorial service for the music legend at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
• September 21: A boy swims in a sphere at a lake enoying the autumn weather in a park in Sofia, Bulgaria.
• 24 September: Dairy farmers spill milk onto a field near Zernikow, northeastern Germany. With Europe-wide demonstrations, dairy farmers demanded a higher price for their produce.
• September 27: An Iranian short-range missile (Tondar) is test-launched during war games in Qom, 120 kms south of Tehran
• September 30: Canadian space tourist and founder of Cirque du Soleil Guy Laliberte is seen during space suit testing prior to his blast off from a Russian leased Kazakh Baikonur cosmodrome.
• September 30: An official banquet on the eve of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
