£200 stolen in burglary
A PENSIONER was left shocked after seeing a man robbing her house, a court has heard.
The 87-year-old woman returned to her home in the Grange area of Edinburgh and saw that a front window had been smashed and there was a man in her living room. She then found that 200 in cash and a passbook had been stolen.
Five days later, an 18-year-old woman living in the same area was the victim of a similar housebreaking.
Appearing in front of Sheriff Katherine Mackie at Edinburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, Kenneth McLennan, 44, of St Albans Road, Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to breaking into the houses in Grange Road on September 7 and 13 this year.
Sheriff Mackie deferred sentence for reports and remanded McLennan in custody.
