£1.2m university safety drive

ABERDEEN University is to receive a £1.2 million funding boost for research and teaching in safety engineering.

Charity Lloyd's Register Educational Trust is providing the he funding to support the appointments of a new chairman and research fellow in Safety and Reliability Engineering over five years.

The work will aim to cut the toll of over 200 industrial fatalities that occur in the UK annually by building understanding and knowledge in the area of safety and reliability.
