1,000 report flu symptoms
MORE than 1,000 people reported flu-like symptoms to their GP last week, figures have shown.
In its weekly swine flu update, the Scottish Government said there was an increase in estimated cases in the Lothians.
But none of four new deaths reported in Scotland occurred in the Edinburgh area, meaning only two people have died locally.
Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon said: "The week's figures show a decrease in the number of people consulting their GP with flu-like symptoms, but an increase in the number of overall estimated cases. Since the start of September the number of hospitalised cases has more than doubled."
