Where the internet lives: Google offers glimpse inside its secretive data centre

THEY host a huge amount of the world’s digital information, but until now very little was known about Google’s data centres.

Now Google has published photos which offer a glimpse inside some of its all-important data centres.

For the web giant its network is its prime advantage over the competition, so only critical staff are granted access to the sites, which are scattered strategically around the world.

The unprecedented view is being provided through a new website called ‘Where the Internet Lives’. To see more images go to www.google.com/about/datacenters
