Historic Scotland photo competition entries
Linlithgow Palace. Picture: John Stokes
THEY are some of the most photographed buildings in Scotland but as the submitted entries to this year’s Historic Scotland photography competition prove so far, the right angle, technique and vision can present these famous landmarks in a whole new light.
With entries not closing until September 30, there is still time to enter this year’s contest where you could win £500 worth of photography vouchers, one year of Historic Scotland Membership and a unique experience on location with a Scotsman photographer.
This week’s featured entries are:
Castle Campbell by Richard Darroch
Crichton Castle by Jim Crichton
Crookston Castle by Alistair McLean
Edinburgh Castle by Sam Ross
Edzell Castle and Garden by Yasmin Simpson
Hermitage Castle by Mark Wilson
Holyrood Park by Kim Kenny
Inchcolm Abbey and Island by Aileen McKay
Linlithgow Palace by John Stokes
Torhouse Stone Circle by Andy Farrington
How to enter:
Entrants should visit www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/photocomp where they will register. After registration they will be asked to upload their photo, inserting a location and title. They will also be asked to opt in or opt out of Historic Scotland communications. In October photos will be submitted to a judging panel and the winning photos will be chosen.
Pictures can be of places, monuments, objects, people, actors, staff or anything associated with their sites.
