Aberdeen art exhibits now available for loan

SOME of Scotland’s most treasured artworks are being rented out to the public for the first time. Aberdeen City Council is putting up 400 pieces for loan from the city’s Fine Art Collection.

Gems normally seen in some of Europe’s finest galleries could now grace office walls across the country.

The Picture Loan Scheme was launched yesterday to give corporate and private institutions the opportunity to borrow works of art. Council leader Barney Crockett wants more people to have access to the city’s vast art collection.
