Tom Daley signs up for second series of Splash!

ITV has signed up Tom Daley for a second series of the celebrity diving show Splash!

The show, which was presented by Gabby Logan and Vernon Kay, ended on Saturday when a peak audience of 6.6 million tuned in to see former ski-jumper Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards triumph ahead of Benidorm actor Jake Canuso and Changing Rooms presenter Linda Barker.

Daley said he was “over the moon” about the news.

ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy, Elaine Bedell, said Splash! had proved itself by building a big prime-time family audience.

She said there was some quite incredible bravery demonstrated by the celebrities taking part.
