Relatively serious role for soap star
ANNA Friel is to return to the West End stage to star in Chekhov classic Uncle Vanya.
The former Brookside star won acclaim as Holly Golightly in a revival of Breakfast At Tiffany’s nearly three years ago.
She will work alongside Scot Ken Stott – soon to star in the movie of The Hobbit – and Samuel West, at the Vaudeville Theatre, from 2 November.
