HARRY Potter star Emma Watson is fans’ top choice to be Doctor Who’s next assistant.

Amy Pond, played by Karen Gillan, is leaving the show, and Watson topped a poll of 5,000 fans as favoured replacement. Zooey Deschanel, from Channel 4’s New Girl, came second.
