TOURISM chiefs hope a new “Bollywood” movie map will help attract thousands of Indian film fans to Scotland.

Some of the country’s scenic locations have been deployed over the past 17 years, including Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Glen Nevis and the Old Man of Storr on Skye.

Now the sites used for 23 different productions have been featured in the map, which the Indian travel trade will be urged to use to help encourage visits to Scotland.

VisitScotland’s guide, which can be downloaded from its website, has been produced ahead of a major sales mission by the agency to Mumbai and Delhi later this month. A spectacular Bollywood song- and-dance sequence has been commissioned for this year’s Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

Other locations featured in the selected films include Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, the Forth Bridge and Glasgow Cathedral.
