WINNERS of the sixth annual Nature Photography Awards, hosted by the Scottish Seabird Centre, based in North Berwick, were revealed yesterday and it was a personal triumph for Glasgow photographer Neil MacGregor.
His dramatic Highland scene took first place in the landscape section while an unforgettable image of a red squirrel in the snow was selected as favourite by members of the public.
Malcolm Davidson travelled across the Atlantic from his home in Dirleton, East Lothian, to capture a view of the New York skyline with smoke spiralling into the air, which won him first place in the environmental impact section. Almost 300 entries were submitted from photographers across the UK and from as far afield as Germany and Spain.
