SCOTLAND’S two major cities were both lit up by spectacular fireworks displays to mark Guy Fawkes’ Night.
In the capital, a large display took place at Meadowbank Stadium with crowds gathering inside and outside the ground for the display.
Meanwhile thousands gathered to watch Scotland’s biggest public fireworks display in Glasgow which had a sporting theme in honour of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Rockets lit up Glasgow Green to the sound of Eye Of The Tiger from the hit film Rocky and the signature tune from the award-winning Chariots Of Fire.
Organisers said around 50,000 people turned out for the 20-minute spectacular this evening.
The crowd was addressed by Commonwealth batonbearers gymnast Cara Kennedy, triple-jumper Morgan McKinnon and swimmer Ruairi Kirkwood.
