Scottish Ballet offers a glimpse of its Autumn Season 2012

Waiting for Video...

Promising an evening of dance extremes, from high energy to classical discipline and latin verve, Scottish Ballet is serving up a triple bill for its Autumn Season, in association with media partner scotsman.com.

Martin Lawrence’s Run For It (2012), fresh from its world premiere as part of the Cultural Olympiad this summer, is a dynamic piece set to the propulsive rhythms of John Adams’ Son of Chamber Symphony and features a striking sculptural installation created by Turner Prize-winning artist Martin Boyce.

William Forsythe’s Workwithinwork (1998) is a study of the possibilities of motion, with the dancers creating a stunning display of fascinating angles and lines, leaving traces of their movements as they go.

Drawing the evening to a close is Hans van Manen’s Five Tangos (1977). Performed by Scottish Ballet for the first time, this sizzling work combines classical ballet with the passion and dramatic flourishes of the tango.

The Scottish Ballet Autumn 2012 repertoire takes in the following dates:

• Theatre Royal, Glasgow - 4-6 October

• Festival Theatre, Edinburgh - 11-13 October

• Eden Court, Inverness - 16 & 17 October

• His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen - 19 & 20 October

More information and booking details can be found on the Scottish Ballet website.
