Review: The Tale of Nada, theSpace @ Surgeon’s Hall (Venue 53)

A CLUE as to the degree of substance, or lack thereof, to this absurd comedy lies in its title, as bumbling goons Ray (fat, mulleted) and Nick (thin, mulleted) infiltrate a security-heavy building of some non-specific description, as part of an ill-defined caper on behalf of a shadowy boss.

Coming across like a cockney Chuckle Brothers, the pair can do nothing right, particularly Nick, who gets the car clamped and brings swimming goggles instead of night vision ones. But laughs arrive lightly and fleetingly, across a strange void of a show that plainly doesn’t feel ready for public viewing.
