PAT Nevin is set to perform a DJ set at a music festival at Butlins, headlined by Madchester group the Happy Mondays, it has been revealed.

The former Motherwell winger, who is now a football pundit, told The Sun: “I don’t know if I’ll get to hang out with the Happy Mondays guys because I’m so busy.

“People know me for football but I’ve been on the decks for more than 30 years - music has always been my main passion.”

Nevin - who also spent five years at Tranmere after a four-year stint with Everton - will play alongside Nineties legends including The Wonder Stuff, Inspiral Carpets and Stereo MC’s.

He revealed that he was turned on to DJing by the late John Peel, making his bow in London’s clubs during the 1980s, when he was at Chelsea.

He added: “Most of [the people at my gigs] are indie kids so they probably don’t know who I am.”

The mini-festival, which runs for three days, starts on November 8 at the Minehead Arena in Somerset.
