Northern Lights light up Caithness sky

The Aurora Borealis at Ackergill Harbour

The Aurora Borealis at Ackergill Harbour

It is a rare sight but when visible it is a spectacular sight that lingers long in the memory of those lucky enough to catch a glimpse.

The Aurora Borealis, aused by collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun’s atmosphere, created a stunning sight at ackergill Harbour, Wick, Caithness.
