Paul Hart, 39, is the Executive Head Chef at The North Bridge Brasserie, at The Scotsman Hotel

Who would be your ideal weekend companion and why?

My wife and my two sons who I rarely get to spend the weekend with.

Where would you take them in Edinburgh?

I’d take them to the cinema at The Scotsman Hotel and watch a children’s film as much for me as them! We’d then sneak a delicious afternoon tea afterwards!

Where would you go for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

Breakfast would have to be delicious pancakes at Heller’s kitchen. Lunch out with the boys would be somewhere child friendly with great food like Jamie’s Italian. The children’s menu even comes on a view finder! A babysitter for the evening would mean drinks and a tasting menu for my wife and I at restaurant Martin Wishart.

What one item would you not be without?

I couldn’t do without my iPhone, as any parent with children knows - if you want a bit of peace during the meal, make sure you have some Peppa Pig or Mickey Mouse handy.

How would your perfect weekend finish?

The weekend would finish with a walk along the beach at Aberdour with my lovely family.
