Rollers star redoes No1 for the Kids
BAY City Rollers star Les McKeown has recorded a new version of a classic hit to raise money for abused children.
The Edinburgh-born front-man will release the Rollers’ 1975 number one hit Give A Little Love in aid of KidsCharities UK.
News of the new release came as McKeown handed over a cheque for 2400 to the National Deaf Children’s Society Scotland in Glasgow. McKeown is representing KidsCharities UK, of which he is a patron.
The money was raised between two events - "Peach Jam", a concert in which he participated in Atlanta, in the United States, last September and a recent cash collection at Rangers’ Ibrox Stadium.
Meanwhile, McKeown and his band are headlining "Blast From The Past 2", a fundraising concert organised by KidsCharities UK, along with former members of bands such as T-Rex and The Glitter Band, and Tigerfeet (formerly Mud) and BC Sweet.
It will take place in the Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow, on March 19, and all proceeds from the concert will be donated to children affected by the tsunami disaster.
