The Cribs

The Cribs

ASK anyone to think of bands consisting entirely of siblings, and they’ll probably name the Jacksons, the Nolans or the Osmonds, so when it comes to musical family affairs, it’s safe to say that the Jarmans don’t exactly fit the mould.

That’s because the Cribs - twins Ryan, Gary and younger brother Ross – have earned a reputation for being one of the most raucous live acts around, garnering a loyal following of diehards along the way.

The Wakefield trio return to Edinburgh this Sunday at the HMV Picture House to headline this year’s Haddow Fest, and fans will be hoping for another suitably sweaty and chaotic gig.

The show is the only Scottish date of their autumn UK tour, and the lads are looking forward to their return to the Capital.

“Edinburgh’s always been a favourite city to play for us. I feel like some of our most memorable shows have been here,” says guitarist Ryan.

“I’ll never forget the stage collapsing at the Liquid Room back in 2005 because of the amount of crowd-surfers and stage-divers - that’s become a deeply-ingrained part of the bands live history now, and I can’t wait to come back to play Haddow Fest.”

They’ll be supported by festival organisers and local stars-in-the-making the 10:04s, who are excited at the prospect of sharing a stage with their heroes. “The Cribs are one of our biggest influences, and probably the best live act we’ve ever seen,” says guitarist Steven Bolton.

Also appearing at Haddow Fest are Hadouken!, Kassidy and Broken Records, as well as a host of up-and-coming Scottish acts, with more than fifty bands playing across six venues in a little over twelve hours.

The Cribs, HMV Picture House, Lothian Road, Sunday, 7pm, £22.50, 0844 847 1740, www.haddowfest.com
