Opera-singing farmer billed as the ‘next Susan Boyle’

An OPERA-singing farmer billed as the next Susan Boyle is using her new-found musical career to help her animals.

Animal lover Kim Adam, 54, has spent five years running her farm and local produce shop near Symington, South Lanarkshire, working away while singing her favourite classical tunes.

But six months ago her rural life took a musical twist when she entered the Britain’s Got Talent show. Ms Adam, who has never had a professional singing lesson and never performed in public, has now recorded her first single, My Chance, named after one of her dogs, to help raise money for the farm, which is a charitable trust.

The CD, released last Saturda,y features classical track Pie Jesu, Scottish song Maclain of Glencoe, and a tune written by Scots singer-songwriter Moira Kerr, This is my World, originally penned for Susan Boyle.

Ms Adam added: “I had never been in a recording studio before, and when Moira Kerr approached me and gave me a song I was blown away.

“She said she had written it for Susan Boyle, but when she heard me sing she decided to give it to me instead, so I am very flattered.”
