Love split drove pop star to suicide bid

I’m A Celebrity winner Dougie Poynter has described how he tried to kill himself after his life became “a relentless hell”.

The McFly star talked of his attempt to commit suicide in his car after hitting rock bottom, following a split from girlfriend Frankie Sandford and months of boozing.

Bass player Poynter spoke of his low point in the band’s new autobiography Unsaid Things... Our Story.

The guitarist and the Saturdays singer split in 2010.
