Gig review: United Fruit, T in the Park

WITH three guitarists and a thunderous rhythm section, United Fruit are capable of producing an unholy racket. Unfortunately, the acoustics on the BBC Introducing stage let them down somewhat, and the overall sound ended up being quite flat.

United Fruit - BBC Introducing Stage

Rating: ***

It didn’t detract from their overall performance though, with the five-piece doing their best to entertain a disappointingly sparse crowd. Recent album Faultlines has received positive reviews from a number of critics, and the band did their best to replicate the live performances they’ve become known for.

Having been championed by a number of critics, United Fruit did nothing to harm their reputation on today’s showing which although far from perfect, contained enough energy and passion to please the audience.
