Five things to do at the Fringe: Monday 6 August

Today: Eddie Izzard, Camille O’Sullivan, The Stranger, Molly Wobbly’s Tit Factory and Monsters Got Talent

COMEDY

Eddie Izzard: Eddie began his comedy career at the Fringe as a rogue street performer. He’s come a long way since then, that’s for sure. Now one of the UK’s best-loved funnymen, he returns to Edinburgh tonight to perform an exclusive one-off show with comedy pals Michael Mittermeier and Trevor Noah. This is one of those shows that jumps out at you screaming “EVENT”.

Assembly Hall, 10.45pm, £25 (£22), 0131-623 3030

MUSIC

CAMILLE O’SULLIVAN – CHANGELING: Camille, below, has been one of the must-see stars of the Fringe for many years now with her vaudevillian singing style and dramatic interpretations of the songs of Brel, Waits, Cave and more besides. This year, she plays just four solo shows before transferring her talents to a one-woman adaptation of Shakespeare’s narrative poem The Rape of Lucrece.

Assembly
Rooms, 10.25pm, £16, 0131-623 3030

THEATRE

THE STRANGER: Forget the usual suspects – the Shakespeares, Pinters, Chekhovs et al – it’s not often enough that French literary giant Albert Camus has his work adapted for the stage. All of which makes Morten Kirkshov’s acclaimed adaptation of existentialist classic The Stranger one not to miss.

Summerhall, 3pm, £12 (£10), 0131-623 3030

MUSICAL

MOLLY WOBBLY’S TIT FACTORY: A musical comedy, above, that comes with guaranteed big laughs, catchy songs and leaky implants. What’s not to love?

The Assembly Rooms, 4.45pm, £15 (£12), 0131-623 3030

KIDS

MONSTERS GOT TALENT: The ultimate talent show for the little ’uns to enjoy – an interactive puppet show starring a singing dragon, a wise-cracking dinosaur and tap-dancing unicorn. Who wins? The audience decides.

Pleasance Courtyard, 1pm, £5, 0131-623 3030
