Charity CD features choir of prisoners

Singing prisoners feature on a CD produced to raise money for a homelessness charity.

The men from Addiewell Prison in West Lothian can be heard on the recording called Changing Key with members of the SoundRoutes choirs, a group of community choirs in central Scotland.

Four tracks feature on the CD alongside a medley of House Of The Rising Sun and Amazing Grace. They include a version of The Who’s Behind Blue Eyes, Primal Scream’s Movin’ On Up and Jimmy Cliff’s Hard Road To Travel.

Recorded in May, the CD was produced by flautist Shona Brown who runs SoundRoutes.

It is being launched at a
concert in Glasgow’s Mitchell Theatre today, with all proceeds from the sale of the disc going to Shelter Scotland.
