Album review: The Circle, Bon Jovi
BON JOVI The Circle * * Mercury 2725515, £12.72
As with all good brands, Bon Jovi's longevity is down to maintaining the core appeal of the product while modernising the manufacturing process.
We Weren't Born To Follow sounds young and rebellious but is rather old and conciliatory, and the rest carefully compiles all the band's established winning formats.
Power ballads like When We Were Beautiful just about reach the bar, while Fast Cars tries to evoke the memory of growing up in Jersey.
The "whoa whoa" songs Brokenpromiseland and Work For The Working Man will get the fists in the air but fail to convince that they really care.
