I’ve selected three whiskies from our range which, are not only a few of my favourites, but also reflect the quality and character that you encounter across the full Highland Park range.
Firstly, Highland Park 12 year-old, is a great introduction to our portfolio and delivers the great characteristics expected in a Highland Park.
This entry level malt has a shape that is rare and distinctive in character and offers a sweet creamy honey, fresh fruity pineapple taste followed by a subtle smokiness which becomes more obvious in the aftertaste, overall gently smokey but surprisingly sweet.
Next up is the award-winning 18 year-old. Having been named the “Best Spirit in the World” in 2005 and 2009 by US spirits writer F. Paul Pacult, it is no surprise that this single malt made it onto my list as one of the most popular expressions at our distillery.
It has an undeniable mouth-wateringly smokey finish that keeps people coming back for more. This expression offers a toffee sweetness giving way to dried fruits and a nutty note of almond. It not only makes a great gift for any whisky connoisseur but for the foodie Highland Park 18 year-old also works very well paired with Orkney Fudge cheesecake.
Finally Highland Park 21 year-old. This is one of the most recent editions to our portfolio and has made a real impact on the market. Proving a popular expression and with only limited supply available. The 21 year-old offers hints of candied orange peel and spicy dark chocolate leading to a rich smoky sensation. The perfect dram to serve for any special occasion.
