Auch and Invermearan Estate estate up for sale – all 28,313 acres of it
A VAST sporting estate has gone on the market at offers over £8.4 million, attracting potential buyers from around the world.
The 28,313-acre Auch and Invermearan Estate stretches from the southern Highlands of Argyll to Perthshire, offering salmon fishing on rivers that flow to the east and west coasts.
Situated in some of Scotland’s most dramatic and beautiful terrain, it also offers the opportunity to generate “green gold”, with the potential identified for an array of new hydro-electric schemes.
Ran Morgan, of selling agent Knight Frank, said: “It’s the biggest estate on the market at the moment, and I have had interest from every continent, excluding Antarctica.
“There are people who are interested in stalking and sport, others who are interested in investing in land, and people interested in renewable energy – the owners of Highland estates have this new revenue stream that has opened up to them in the last five years.”
Large estates do not come on the market very often, and remain highly sought after, despite the recession.
The big house on the estate, Auch Lodge, has six bedrooms, four bathrooms and a one-bedroom annexe. There are also seven farm and holiday cottages and planning consent for a six-bedroom lodge on the estate.
