Cancer charity Macmillan’s heating bill shock

CANCER charity Macmillan has reported a surge in patients seeking help with heating bills.

It paid out £216,453 in grants for basic costs in the final week to December, around a third up on the weekly average for 2012.

More than 36 per cent of the total for the last week of December was for heating bills, up 27 per cent on 2012’s weekly average.
