Wine: Aussies prove regional needn't mean parochial

WHILE Australia continues to churn out much-maligned though consistent brands – the Jacob's Creeks and Oxford Landings of this world – some of their regionally driven wines are outstanding.

D'Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2007 – 9.99, Waitrose With bags of spicy, peppery character and some serious berry fruit flavours, this Shiraz is not short of character.
