Nine-year-old girl whose school lunch blog prompted ban has breakfast with Nick Nairn as chef pays tribute to fundraising
A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl whose blog about her school lunches was the subject of a ban has been praised by chef Nick Nairn after raising more than £100,000 for children in Malawi.
The television chef cooked Martha Payne a special porridge breakfast for Martha Payne, whose NeverSeconds blog was banned by Argyll and Bute council, to celebrate her fundraising efforts.
Martha, who attends Lochgilphead Primary, initially set herself a target of £7,000 to contribute towards the building of a kitchen for a school in Malawi through charity Mary’s Meals.

But donations shot up after Argyll and Bute council reversed its decision to ban her blog, prompting donations to rocket past the £50,000 mark in less than 24 hours.
Martha will travel to Malawi next month to witness the fruits of her fundraising.
