River Phoenix’s last film gets belated premiere

RIVER Phoenix’s last film is making its US premiere at the Miami International Film Festival this month, 20 years after the actor’s death.

Dark Blood was nearly burned by an insurance company. Director George Sluizer decided to finish it and narrated missing scenes. Phoenix was 23 when he died of drug-induced heart failure in Los Angeles in 1993.
