Film-maker releases stunning Edinburgh time-lapse video

Waiting for Video...

A UNIVERSITY lecturer, whose work has been featured at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, has released another time-lapse teaser of his new Edinburgh-based film.

Walid Salhab, a lecturer on Media Practice at Queen Margaret University in Musselburgh, is making a follow-up to Bra-et Al Rouh (Innocence of Spirit), a film starring a young Palestinian girl that draws parallels between homelessness and Palestinian refugees. The film won plaudits after winning an award at the Best Shorts awards in California. The film was subsequently screened at Cannes in May this year.

His new film, which has a working title of The Fall & Rise Of The Banker, is also based in Edinburgh and focuses on a bank worker who lost everything following the financial crash of 2008.

The above time-lapse, entitled ‘Kinetic Edinburgh’, portrays the film in a nervy, tense and energy-packed light.

It features the city’s renowned landmarks namely Arthur’s Seat Princes Street and the Forth Road Bridges with shots of Stockbridge taken from various points along the Water of Leith walkway.
