What is it? Second World War movie executive-produced by George Lucas about the African-American pilots of the the Tuskegee training programme.

After being kept on the ground for much of the war, they are finally called to duty under the command of of Col A J Bullard (Terrence Howard). Cuba Gooding Jr also stars.

What we said: “The story should be an inspiring one, and in the air there’s certainly spectacle worthy of a Star Wars dog-fight. On the ground, however, the script seems to be as gung-ho as a corny John Ford war pic.”
