007 is SRU’s special guest at Murrayfield
AMONG the celebrities at Murrayfield today for the Calcutta Cup match will be Daniel Craig, the English actor best known for playing James Bond. The 43-year-old, right, who used to play for Hoylake Rugby Club, is a guest of the Scottish Rugby Union.
Turnstiles open at 2.15pm today, and the first thousand fans to arrive will be met with the offer of a free hat or scarf.
Six bands will be performing around the grounds as four big screens show live coverage of France v Italy.
At 3pm, pipe bands will gather at the South Stand for the arrival of the Scotland team bus, decked out in all blue livery for the campaign to Turn Murrayfield Blue. The Red Hot Chili Pipers will also be on hand.
Scotland fans will have a chance to acclaim Chris Paterson, there to present the match ball, following his retirement from international rugby.
At full-time, the Calcutta Cup will be presented by HRH The Princess Royal.
