Game review: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

STUDIO Ghibli, the studio behind Spirited Away and My Neighbour Totoro are co-developers (alongside Level-5) on Ni No Kuni, and it’s evident in every pixel.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch

Namco Bandai, PS3, £39.99

While this has some of the smoothest, loveliest animations you’ll see in any game, this isn’t about high-def graphics but wonderful character designs and charming storytelling. Sometimes it feels like you are just running from one scene to another and it takes a while to really get going (perhaps unsurprising when you consider it’ll take over 40 hours to complete your epic quest).

Ni No Kuni offers nothing groundbreaking in the world of RPGs – it’s a cute adventure in a magical fairy world, but the presentation takes it to another level.
