Competition: Win a bottle of Laphroaig 10 Year Old whisky

Laphroaig whisky

Laphroaig whisky

CONSIDERED to be one of the most distinctive single malt’s in the world, Laphroaig, meaning “the beautiful hollow by the broad bay” is produced at the head of Loch Laphroaig, on the south coast of the Isle of Islay.

Operating since 1825, the distillery has continued to apply Laphroaig’s traditional methods, ancient skills and absolute dedication to the quality for nearly 200 years.

To create Laphroaig’s individual taste malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, then gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.

The award winning portfolio of Laphroaig whiskies range from the rich, pungent 10 Year Old, to the sweet oak taste of 18 Year Old. The Laphroaig 10 Year Old also offers a surprising sweetness with hints of salt and layers of peatiness. A hint of the sea can be also be detected from the Laphroaig 18 year old, testimony to its time maturing on the remote island of Islay.

You can enjoy Laphroaig neat, or with a little cool water. Roll it around on your tongue. Release the pungent, earthy aroma of blue peat smoke, the sweet nuttiness of the barley, the delicate heathery perfume of Islay’s streams. It is as unique as the island itself.
