HARRIS Tweed outfits and dance infused costumes were among the design unveiled at the Glasgow School of Art Catwalk Show, as students showed off their work to a packed audience at The Arches last night.
Chunky-knitted dresses and accessories were also exhibited by 55 students who used print, knit, embroidery and weave in their creations.
And on the catwalk were fashions inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s most famous ballet The Rite of Spring – which scandalised the Parisian audience at its premiere 100 years ago – and which will be worn by dancers from the Royal Conservatoire of Glasgow in a special performance at the Tramway theatre in May.
“The fashion show is an institution that’s been going on since the 1940s” said third year student Izzy Rainey.
“It’s a tradition because everyone makes their pieces specifically for the show and there’s a different theme every year.”
