Alongside the Edinburgh College of Art Fashion and Textiles students, graduates from the Performance Costume course are showing their work at the ECA 2012 Fashion Show this week.

Always the most flamboyant part of the show, this year students have been inspired by literature, film and theatre as diverse as Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera, the opera Lucia di Lammermoor, Kate Bush’s Hounds of Love, Eugene Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, and the Old Testament story of Esther.

Click through to the gallery to see a selection of the best.

The ECA Fashion Show 2012 is at the Playfair Library at Edinburgh University till 25 May. For more details go to Edinburgh College of Art.
